Rental Karting - the sport

At Bradley Sheppard Racing, we don’t view rental karting as a warm-up act. It’s not a stepping stone. It’s not the “budget version” of real racing. It’s a motorsport category in its own right — highly competitive, increasingly professional, and growing fast across the UK and Europe. We’re proud to be a team that not only recognises its value but builds winning drivers within it.

Rental karting offers something unique in the motorsport world: a level playing field. Every driver uses the same chassis, same engine, same tyres. There’s no equipment advantage. No expensive upgrades. Just skill, strategy, consistency, and nerve. That’s why the best rental drivers are some of the most well-rounded racers in the sport.

At BSR, we specialise in developing drivers through every layer of this exciting scene. Whether you’re racing locally in SRK or pushing for a world title in the Kart World Championship, our team is here to coach, support, and mentor you throughout your journey.

Two Distinct Pathways

We support drivers in two key routes through the karting ladder:

  • The competitive rental karting ladder: SRK → BIKC → KWC & International Qualifiers
  • The transition to owner karting: SRK → BIKC → Club100 → Rotax

But it’s important to be clear — these are two separate paths, not one that leads automatically to the other. Many drivers build a full and rewarding racing career in the rental karting world. Others use the platform to gain race experience before entering owner-driver classes. At BSR, both paths are respected equally. You don’t need to “move up” to be taken seriously.

WHY BSR FOR RENTAL KARTING?

We take rental racing seriously. It’s a discipline we’ve built years of experience in, and our results speak for themselves. From titles at national level to world-class performances abroad, we’ve shown time and again that our systems work.

We don’t just show up on race day — we build better drivers through preparation, communication, and community. You’ll be part of a structured, supportive environment that fosters growth while still delivering competitive results.

Whether you’re entering your first SRK round, gunning for a BIKC title, or flying out to the KWC, we’re here to make sure you’re not just on the grid — you’re ready to win.

COACHING FOR RENTAL RACERS

BSR is more than just a race team — we’re a coaching platform. Every rental driver we work with benefits from access to a full suite of performance support:

  • 1-to-1 On-Track Coaching
Personalised feedback in real time, helping you improve racing lines, braking technique, defensive moves, and race starts.

  • Off-Track Strategy Sessions
We look at data, video, and previous race decisions to help shape your strategy for future events.

  • Online Coaching
Can’t make it to the track? We offer online coaching sessions where we review footage, analyse driving styles, and support you with preparation and mindset — no matter where you’re racing.

  • Championship Planning
If you’re entering BIKC, Club100, or KWC qualifiers, we’ll help map out your campaign, pick target rounds, and guide you through the season tactically.

  • Race Day Mentoring
For drivers who want us trackside, we can attend key events to coach live — including between heats or just before finals.

Our goal is to create confident, informed drivers who make smart decisions on track — whether it’s a race start at SRK or a World Final in KWC.

WHICH RENTAL Championships DOES BRAD SHEPPARD RACING Compete In?

At Bradley Sheppard Racing, we compete across a wide range of rental karting championships, each offering its own unique format, intensity, and level of competition.

From regional 4-stroke series like SRK to high-pressure knockout events like BIKC, all the way up to international qualifiers and the Kart World Championship, our drivers race in some of the most respected rental events in the UK and Europe.

Whether you’re just starting out or chasing a world title, there’s a championship suited to your goals,  and we’ll help you prepare for every step. Explore each series below to see where your journey could take you.

SOUTHERN RENTAL KART CHAMPIONSHIP (SRK)

SRK is one of the most accessible and competitive entry-level rental karting championships in the UK. Based primarily in the south of England, SRK offers junior, senior, and endurance classes across a full 10-round calendar.

For many of our drivers, SRK is the first taste of real championship pressure — qualifying sessions, points tables, strategy, and consistency over a season. BSR has been part of this championship since 2020, and during that time we’ve won eight team titles and four driver titles. It’s where we refine the basics and start building championship-winning habits from day one.

Organised by TeamSport, BIKC is the biggest go-karting event in the UK, with over 2,000 drivers competing across cadet, junior, and senior categories. Structured as an elimination format, it begins with local qualifiers, then moves to regionals, before concluding with the National Final.

While BIKC is classed as an “entry-level” competition, don’t underestimate the standard. The volume of talent, tight tracks, and knockout structure means there’s zero room for error. It teaches pressure-handling better than most series.

BSR has been competing in BIKC since its first season in 2020 and has gone on to win four national titles across multiple categories.

Often described as the bridge between rental karting and owner karting, Club100 is the world’s biggest 2-stroke rental kart championship. It combines the close competition of rental karting with the speed and feel of high-performance machinery.

With cadet, junior, and senior grids, Club100 attracts drivers from across the UK looking to race on high-grip outdoor circuits in identical, race-prepared 2-stroke machinery.

BSR joined Club100 in 2022 — and in our first season, one of our drivers won the championship. The series demands adaptability, control, and the ability to extract every tenth out of a kart that’s fundamentally equal across the field.

The Kart World Championship is the pinnacle of international rental karting.

Held annually in July, the event rotates between countries and includes a mix of indoor and outdoor racing. National qualifying events are hosted in each participating country, with the winners crowned as National Champions and given a free entry into the World Final.

BSR began racing in KWC events in 2022 and has quickly made its mark. We’ve secured British qualifying titles in 2022 and 2023 and have been the highest-ranked British team at the World Finals for four consecutive years.

These events test more than just pace. Drivers must compete across multiple heats, Super Heats, and Finals — sometimes completing upwards of 15 sessions over the course of a week. The consistency, physical demand, and tactical awareness required make it one of the most respected platforms in all of karting.
