Rotax Karting with BSR

Rotax racing is one of the most competitive and well-established owner-driver categories in UK karting, and at Bradley Sheppard Racing, it’s a major part of what we do.

Raced at club and national level across the UK, Rotax offers fast, consistent, and tightly regulated competition. Drivers own their own karts, which means more control over performance — and more responsibility when it comes to preparation and development. That challenge is exactly what makes this discipline so rewarding.

At BSR, we support drivers entering or progressing through the Rotax ranks. Whether you’re making the move from rental karting or starting out in owner karting, we provide the structure and expertise to help you compete with confidence.

What is Rotax?

Rotax is a class of karting powered by the Rotax MAX engine family, known for performance, durability, and equal competition. With categories including Mini, Junior, Senior and more, it’s the backbone of many UK club and national championships.

Racing in Rotax means working with your equipment across an entire season: understanding tyre wear, engine performance, weather setup changes, and race-day preparation. It’s a hands-on, highly involved form of motorsport — and the perfect platform to grow as a driver.

Who is rotax for?

Rotax is ideal for drivers who want to take full ownership of their karting journey. It’s fast, fair, and incredibly competitive, especially in the national paddock, where every tenth matters.

The Rotax ladder offers multiple age-based categories, starting with Micro Max from age 8, followed by Mini Max (ages 10–13), Junior Rotax (12–15), and Senior Rotax (15+). Each class is carefully designed to suit different stages of driver development, making it a strong fit for a wide range of experience levels.

If you’re ready for a new level of involvement and want to be surrounded by a focused, experienced team that supports your development on and off the track, we’re ready to help.
